While I'm getting back to updating archives, I really should put this story here, seeing as it was recently a CoT Runner Up. Thanks to everyone who voted for it! :) Written for dark_aegis/Gillian_Taylor as a pinch-hit in the 2009 OT3 Ficathon, using prompt #3B: "Nine, Rose and Jack on an alien planet. Jack gets kidnapped or claimed as a slave. Rose and Nine have to rescue him. Do not want: non-con."

This story is set very soon after Jack joins the TARDIS crew and involves how he settles in, as it were. I'm slotting this into my "Flowers!verse" series (because I can, and because this reflects my view of how the Early Days went in that 'Verse), but there's nothing particularly AU about this installment, and it can be taken as a canon-compliant "missing moment" standalone, too.
